“They aren’t real but they do fly and swim. The robot jellyfish/fliers function from lithium ion batteries that help to propel the electronically driven tentacles. The fish posses a laser-sintered pressure vessel while the fliers operate be means of a helium balloon. Alternating tensile forces produce the symbolic tentacle movement. Each robot has the ability to change its direction by means of a moving pendulum that shifts the bots center of gravity and thus propels it into that particular direction. The fish-bots, use light and pressure sensors to gage their position relative to other bots and their environment. These water creatures also are able to regulate their own battery power by recognizing they need to be recharged and then finding the docking station where they can re-power”.
